The PTA needs families and staff to help make FPG Bilingüe an amazing school!

The PTA is looking for volunteers for the 2018-19 school year for the following positions. If you are interested in one of the positions below or have other ideas or questions, please email us or call 919-942-6491 ext. 37112.

Hispanic Heritage Night (1-2 volunteers) The Hispanic Heritage Night Coordinator promotes the event with school families. They will organize volunteers for the event to help with potluck, cultural Latin show, set up and clean up. This is a one-time event that takes place in October. This position is available for next year.

Grant Writer (1-2 volunteers) Grant writers are imperative to long term PTA funding. They apply for and follow up on grants requested by the school or PTA. This helps to secure supplemental funding to support new initiatives for the benefit of the school community. This positon has an ongiong need for volunteers.

Social Events (1-2 volunteers) The Social Events Coordinator works to plan and organize PTA social events, such as Movie Night & Magic Show.

Teacher Appreciation (1-2 volunteers) The committee fundraises and organizes activities to show love and appreciation for our teachers. This happens throughout the year, but has an emphasis on Teacher Appreciation Week in May.  Courtney is willing to volunteer again next year, but this position requires 1-2 additional volunteers.

Hospitality (1-2 volunteers) This committee provides support to teachers during requested times/delayed openings by organizing nutritious snacks. It requires about 3 hours a month usually during delayed openings or after school.

TABLE/PORCH (1-2 volunteers) Nurtures partnerships between the school community and TABLE/PORCH to provide school families-in-need with nutrition assistance.

Book Fairs (1-2 volunteers each for Fall and Spring) Book Fair Coordinators promote the event with school families, work with the vendor, and organize volunteers.  This position is available for next year, and requires several hours surrounding events.

Vice President (1 volunteer) The role of the vice president is to support the role of president and meet monthly at meetings.  It requires approximately 6 hours a month.

Day of the Child (1 volunteer) Day of the Child is a one day event run in the spring. It requires some work with Sra. Ramirez to help find and organize volunteers.

School Garden (multiple volunteers) Did you know that La Huerta, FPGB’s school garden, is a four-season garden, growing veggies, herbs, and fruit all through the summer and the winter? No experience or knowledge is required to volunteer, and even coming out for one workday (2 hours) each month is incredibly helpful to meet our goal of having a beautiful, productive, educational garden for FPGB students, teachers and families. Spend a Sunday morning outside with your family, getting dirty, and bring home some delicious, fresh produce! For more information, email fpggarden@gmail.com.

PTA/SIT Liason (1 volunteer) Attends both PTA Board and SIT meetings to share communications between the two groups.
